- - #JJ INSTATIPS - ••••••• Story ••••• • Want to really push yourself? Here's a great assignment. Look for pictures that tell stories. I think you'll find that it's a very satisfying way to shoot. Here's a couple tips that will help you create images that tell a story . -Start with the end in mind. Often we shoot what we happen to come across. A pretty sunset, our kitty looking especially cute. If you're trying to tell a story with your picture it helps to be more thoughtful. Before you start shooting ask yourself, "What am trying to say with this picture " -Focus on the emotion. A story picture will be effective if it conveys emotion. Look for images that convey excitement, sadness, peacefulness, etc . -Don't be afraid to set up your shot. This isn't photojournalism. Bribing your kids to play along is fine. This picture might look candid but it was definitely staged. I probably shot it 6 times before I actually got it right . Got a story image that you'd like to share with us? Tag it #jj_story . Maybe you noticed the black banner tonight? From here on out a black banner is a content post and a red banner is a forum and feature post. Fancy huh? ;-)
