In the same way that you can recognize the voice of Dillon or Sinatra you can see the voice of a great photographer. Here’s the secret to developing your own voice. . 1- Listen to the images that pull you. Don’t second guess your interests. If it’s intriguing to you, then go with it . 2- Look at a lot of pictures. Go to the bookstore and sit down with a stack of art books and a latte. Check out the Getty, Corbis, and Flickr websites. Create a digital scrapbook of what you wish your style could look like . 3- Take TONS of pictures. This is the most important part. There is no substitute for time behind the camera .
