A friend came to me and asked if I'd do a portrait to represent him and his mother(who had just passed away from a long battle with cancer). He told me a story about how as a child he was asked by her if he wanted to change his middle name. He replied with YES and that he wanted it to be Spiderman. Although he didn't get the name he first wanted, she always told the story in laughter and wonderment to friends. Her favorite flower was a rose and his favorite thing to draw was skulls.
